Leather, Alcantara, piano-black trim and touchscreens all want different handling. Here is how a premium interior is actually cleaned.

The short answer

Premium interior detailing isn't about stronger chemicals — it's about matching the method to the material. Leather, Alcantara, open-pore wood, piano-black trim, screens and perforated seats all want different handling. The same care applies to a daily-driven family SUV, because modern interiors of every price use the same delicate finishes.

Brentwood driveways hold a wide mix of vehicles, and the interiors have more in common than you'd expect. A luxury sedan and a mainstream three-row SUV both have a large touchscreen, gloss-black trim that shows every swirl, and upholstery that a generic all-purpose cleaner can damage. The risk is the same; only the replacement cost differs.

Alcantara / suedeLight cleaning, gentle lift of the nap, minimal moistureSoaking or scrubbing, which mats it permanently
Piano-black trim and screensDedicated soft media, low pressure, clean towelsReused cloths carrying grit
Cloth and carpetAgitation plus heated extraction to flush contamination outSurface wiping that pushes soil deeper

Most permanent interior damage comes from the wrong product, not from use

One cleaner for everything is the real risk

Strong all-purpose cleaner dries leather, hazes trim and can lift finish from matte surfaces. It's the most common cause of avoidable interior damage we see.

How the Work Is Sequenced

Order does as much as product. Loose debris comes out first so nothing gets ground into carpet later. Hard surfaces get cleaned before wet work on the upholstery, so dust doesn't settle on finished areas. Extraction comes late, and glass is last so it stays clear.

The parts that take the longest

Not the open surfaces — the edges. Seat rails, belt anchors, seams, vent slats, console gaps and door jambs are where dirt actually accumulates and where hand work is unavoidable. On a vehicle with multiple rows and captain's chairs, that's a significant share of the appointment.

Touch points matter most

Steering wheel, shifter, door pulls and armrests carry the most skin oil and are the first thing anyone notices. They also should not be left slick.

Daily-Driven Vehicles Beside the Nice One

Most households in Brentwood have both: the vehicle that gets driven carefully and the one that hauls everything. The practical split is a deeper reset on the daily driver — carpets, extraction, the whole backlog — and a lighter, careful maintenance interior on the one that's kept clean. Two different service levels, one visit.

The depth of work in each is described on our interior detailing page, and if a vehicle genuinely just needs a refresh, a mini interior detail is the right-sized option. Package levels and starting prices are on the detailing packages page.

What adds labor

Pet hair, spilled drinks, sand, set-in stains and smoke odor are the five things that meaningfully extend an interior appointment. None of them are a problem — they just need to be known in advance so the time and the quote are right. Odor in particular has to be addressed at the source rather than sprayed over; that's covered on the smoke and odor removal page.

Realistic expectations

Cleaning restores; it doesn't reverse wear. Worn leather, faded panels and heat-damaged trim will look dramatically better without becoming new.

Common questions

Premium Interior FAQs

Do you clean leather differently from cloth?

Yes. Leather gets a pH-appropriate cleaner, gentle agitation and conditioning. Cloth and carpet get the wet work — agitation and heated extraction — which would be the wrong approach on leather.

Can you clean Alcantara or suede trim?

It can be cleaned, carefully. Alcantara mats down and stains easily, so it's treated gently and never saturated. Heavily worn or discolored Alcantara may improve without returning to new.

Is it safe to clean screens and gloss black trim?

Yes, with the right approach. Both scratch easily, so they're cleaned with dedicated soft media and minimal pressure rather than general-purpose cloths.

Do you use dressings that leave a shine?

We aim for a clean factory finish rather than a greasy gloss. Slick dressings on a steering wheel or pedals are genuinely a safety issue.

Can a daily-driven family vehicle get the same service?

Absolutely — the process adapts to the materials and the condition, not the badge on the hood.
