Interior Car Detailing in Nashville: What's Included & What Does It Cost?
Carpets, seats, mats, leather, trim and glass — what interior detailing covers, what adds labor, and where Motorcity pricing starts.
The short answer
Interior detailing covers everything inside the vehicle: carpets, floor mats, seats, console, door panels, vents, trim and interior glass, with hard surfaces cleaned and given UV protection. Deeper service adds shampoo and heated extraction of carpets and cloth seats, leather cleaning and conditioning, and steam cleaning. At Motorcity Detailing, complete interior-and-exterior packages start at $199.99 for a sedan, and pricing moves with vehicle size, service level and condition.
The interior is the half of the vehicle you actually live in, and it's the half a car wash never touches. It's also where nearly all the labor in a detail goes — which is why two identical SUVs can sit at very different price points depending on what has been riding in them.

The vacuum stage
Not just floors. Mats come out and are treated separately rather than cleaned in place, and the vacuum covers seat rails, under the seats, the trunk or cargo area and the seams where sand and crumbs collect. Grit left in carpet backing is abrasive, so getting it out is as much preservation as cleaning.

Before: grit and debris worked into the carpet backing
Hard surfaces and UV protection
Dash, console, door cards, cupholders, vents and switchgear get cleaned and then protected. The protection matters in a Tennessee summer — sustained heat and UV through the glass is what fades dash plastics and makes trim feel chalky. Done right, surfaces look factory-matte rather than greasy and shiny.
Shampoo and heated extraction
On the deeper tier, carpets, mats and cloth seats are shampooed and then extracted with hot water. Extraction is the whole point: it lifts the loosened soil and most of the moisture back out instead of pushing it deeper into the padding. This is the step that removes years of accumulation rather than resurfacing it.

Heated extraction pulls soil and moisture back out
Leather and glass
Leather is cleaned and conditioned by hand rather than sprayed and wiped, which keeps seat bolsters and steering wheels from drying out. Interior glass is done last, since every earlier stage throws dust.

Starting prices — confirmed against your vehicle before the appointment
If the exterior genuinely doesn't need attention, a standalone full interior detail is the better spend, and a mini interior detail covers well-kept vehicles that just need a refresh. Starting prices vary by vehicle size, service selected and vehicle condition.
What Adds Labor
Condition is the variable people underestimate. Pet hair woven into carpet and cloth seats, spilled drinks, set-in stains, sand and mulch in the footwells, or a long stretch without attention all add real time on site. Add-ons are priced individually rather than bundled into the headline number — deodorizing, leather treatment, trim restoration and pet hair among them.
Pet hair, priced honestly
Hair braided into carpet fiber and upholstery takes dedicated tools and time, so it's quoted as an add-on rather than buried in the base price.
Odors are a separate problem
Smell usually comes from a source — a spill in the padding, a damp mat, smoke residue in the vents. Deep cleaning removes most of it; cigarette and tobacco odor is handled by dedicated smoke odor removal.

After: seats, carpet and trim reset
How to Pick Your Level
Be honest about the starting point. If the interior is tidy and just needs a proper clean, the Motorcity Detail is enough. If seats, console, vents and door panels want real attention, the Signature covers them. If carpets and cloth seats need shampoo and extraction — kids, dogs, work gear, or a vehicle you're about to sell — the Special is built for that reset.
Selling a vehicle?
The deeper interior reset is usually the highest-return money you'll spend before listing, because interiors are what buyers judge in the first thirty seconds.
How the Appointment Works
We come to you. Our units arrive with water and power onboard, so a driveway, apartment lot or office parking space all work and nothing is needed from your building. Clearing out personal items, car seats and trunk contents before we arrive puts every minute toward the vehicle instead of relocating belongings.
One thing that helps most
Take out the child seats if you can. They're the single biggest obstacle to cleaning carpet and upholstery properly, and reinstalling them is a job for the person who knows the correct fit.

Common questions
Interior Detailing FAQs
What is included in interior car detailing?
A full interior detail covers carpets, floor mats, seats, console, door panels, vents, trim and interior glass. Hard surfaces are cleaned and given UV protection. Deeper service adds shampoo and heated extraction of carpets, mats and cloth seats, leather cleaning and conditioning, and steam cleaning of trim.
How much does interior detailing cost in Nashville?
Our complete interior-and-exterior packages start at $199.99 for a sedan on the Motorcity Detail, $269.99 on the Motorcity Signature and $369.99 on the Motorcity Special, with larger vehicles starting higher. Interior-only services are also available, and every figure is a starting price confirmed against your vehicle before the appointment.
Can you get pet hair out of my seats and carpet?
Yes. Pet hair woven into carpet and cloth seats takes extra labor, so it is quoted as an add-on rather than hidden in the base price. That way a vehicle without pet hair never subsidizes one that has it.
Will my interior be wet afterward?
Shampooed areas are extracted with hot water, which pulls the soil and most of the moisture back out. Carpets and cloth seats may feel slightly damp for a while afterward; leaving windows cracked in dry weather speeds it up.
Do you come to my home or office?
Yes. Motorcity Detailing is mobile only. Our units arrive with water and power onboard and we work at your home, office or another approved location in Nashville and the surrounding area.
